Remote Assistance

What is Remote Assistance?

Remote Assistance is a way in which our Support Team here at Technical Troubleshooter can provide remote support over the Internet. We can take control of your PC and trouble shoot right before your very eyes... as if one of our friendly Support Team Members was actually with you! Well... we are... virtually! And this means that you can be located anywhere in Rhode Island, or in fact the world.

Can I use Remote Assistance?

If you have contacted us and scheduled a support session, then 'YES' you can. For more information on our support policies, please see our Support Page

Do I need to call or email Technical Troubleshooter Support first?

Yes. We will need to schedule a support appointment prior to initiating the Remote Support call.

When can I use Remote Support?

You can use Remote Support as long as you have a working internet connection. Once we connect, you can demonstrate the problems with your system, or we can take over and initiate the troubleshooting process while you watch.

Is Remote Assistance Safe?

Yes. Because you initiate the connection, you have all the power. You can disconnect an active Remote session at any time you like. Because the program is loaded into memory, once the session is closed, there is nothing left to clean up or delete. Rest assured that no one can enter you computer once the session has closed.

A window like the one below will appear. Chose 'Run' by left clicking on the button

A second warning box may appear depending on your internet security settings. This is the Remote Assistance application from our website. Select 'Run'.

The Technical Troubleshooter Remote Support window will now open. You can select one of the support choices by double-clicking in the left window. You should be on the phone with with us at this point and we will guide you through this process. Clicking 'Cancel' will close the application and end Remote Support.

Once a support option has been double-clicked, a connection will be made to the Technical Troubleshooter computer. A bubble pop-up will appear over the taskbar while your computer is waiting to connect. Once the connection is made the support session can begin.

You can terminate the session at any time by clicking the 'T' icon in the lower right of the taskbar. The software will immediately delete itself from you system
